 Unit 1: Introduction to Training and Adult Learning Principles

  1. Training Overview:
  • Definition and purpose of training.
  • Training vs. teaching vs. facilitation.
  1. Adult Learning Principles:
  • Understanding adult learners and their unique needs and expectations (Knowles' Andragogy).
  • The importance of relevance, self-direction, and experience in adult learning.
  • Kolb’s Experiential Learning Cycle.
  1. Activity: Group discussion on personal training experiences.

Unit 2: Types of Training

  1. Instructor-Led Training (ILT):
  • Advantages: Personalized interaction, real-time feedback.
  • Disadvantages: Resource-intensive, limited scalability.
  1. Online Training:
  • Tools: Learning Management Systems (LMS), video conferencing platforms.
  • Advantages: Scalable, flexible.
  • Disadvantages: Limited engagement, technical issues.
  1. On-the-Job Training (OJT):
  • Methods: Job shadowing, coaching, mentoring.
  • Advantages: Practical, immediate application.
