The PMI-PBA® Exam Preparation Course, delivered by ALTAWAIL Consulting & Training as a PMI Authorized Training Partner (PMI ATP), helps participants develop competencies in assessing business needs, planning analysis activities, eliciting, analyzing, documenting, tracing, and managing changes to requirements, and evaluating solutions. The program provides 35 official contact hours in business analysis practices and prepares participants for the PMI-PBA® examination and for the efficient, professional application of business analysis tools and techniques.

What Will You Gain?
ALTAWAIL is a PMI Authorized Training Partner (ATP). This program provides 35 contact hours of formal education in business analysis practices. It is designed to align with the PMI-PBA® Examination Content Outline and current PMI requirements.

Course Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Assess business problems and opportunities and define an appropriate solution scope.
  • Clarify business needs, value propositions, project goals, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Plan business analysis activities and establish effective mechanisms for requirements management.
  • Elicit, analyze, document, prioritize, and validate requirements, and obtain stakeholder approval.
  • Monitor requirements throughout their lifecycles and manage changes to them.
  • Evaluate implemented solutions and their alignment with requirements, acceptance criteria, business needs, and expected value.
  • Select and use appropriate business analysis tools and techniques to support decision-making and improve project outcomes.

This training course will be delivered using an appropriate combination of engaging and purposeful methods, including:

  • Group activities, workshops, simulations, and collaborative exercises.
  • Experiential exercises aligned with business analysis practices, tools, and techniques.
  • Instructor-led explanations, facilitated discussions, and structured problem-solving.
  • Knowledge checks and an end-of-course assessment.

PDU Distribution:

If a participant already holds a PMI certification, this course may qualify for PDUs. The final allocation across Ways of Working, Power Skills, and Business Acumen will be based on the approved course content and PMI reporting requirements.

PMI-PBA® Certification Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must complete 35 contact hours of education in business analysis practices and satisfy one of the following education and professional-experience pathways:

Set A

  • A high school diploma, an associate degree, or a global equivalent.
  • At least 60 months working as a business analysis practitioner, earned within the past eight years.

Set B

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher, or global equivalent.
  • At least 36 months working as a business analysis practitioner, earned within the past eight years.

Set C

  • A bachelor’s or postgraduate degree from a GAC-accredited program, or global equivalent.
  • At least 24 months of unique, non-overlapping professional business analysis experience.

Path to PMI-PBA® Certification

  1. Fulfill the eligibility requirements

    Confirm the applicable education and professional-experience pathway and completion of 35 contact hours of business analysis education.

  2. Complete the PMI-PBA® exam preparation program

    Attend the training sessions and complete the required activities and assessment to receive evidence of 35 contact hours.

  3. Submit the PMI application

    Create an account on PMI.org, document the required education, training, and business analysis experience, and submit the application for review.

  4. Complete the audit if selected

    Provide the education, training, and professional-experience documentation requested by PMI.

  5. Pay, schedule, and take the examination

    Once the application is approved, the applicable fees are paid, a test date is scheduled, and the test is taken using one of the approved and available testing options.

  6. Earn and Maintain the Certification

    Pass the examination to earn the PMI-PBA® certification. Maintain it by earning and reporting 60 PDUs during each three-year certification cycle and completing PMI’s renewal requirements.

  • Track requirements using traceability artifacts
  • Monitor requirements throughout their lifecycles
