What will I benefit?
ALTAWAIL is a PMI Authorized Training Partner (ATP). This program provides 40 contact hours of formal education in project risk management. It is designed to align with the current PMI-RMP® Examination Content Outline, and PMI requirements.
Course Objectives:
At the end of this course, the participants should be able to
- Establish a risk management strategy and a project-specific risk management plan.
- Identify threats and opportunities using appropriate individual and collaborative techniques.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative risk analysis to support prioritization and decision-making.
- Plan and implement responses for threats and opportunities, with clear ownership and accountability.
- Monitor overall project risk, residual and secondary risks, response effectiveness, and emerging changes.
- Update risk information, communicate results to stakeholders, and close risks appropriately.
- Apply risk management practices across predictive, agile, and hybrid project environments.
Target Audience:
- Project and program managers whose responsibilities include managing project uncertainty and risk.
- Risk managers, risk analysts, project control professionals, and members of PMOs.
- Experienced professionals preparing for the PMI-RMP® certification examination.
Target Competencies:
- Analyze preliminary project documents; assess the project environment for threats and opportunities.
- Confirm risk thresholds based on risk appetites; establish the risk management strategy; develop the risk management plan.
- Plan risk management activities; lead stakeholder participation.
- Conduct risk identification exercises; examine assumptions and constraints; document risk triggers and thresholds; develop the risk register.
- Perform qualitative risk analysis; perform quantitative risk analysis; identify threats and opportunities.
- Plan risk responses; implement risk responses; analyze performance data; monitor residual and secondary risks; update relevant project documents; monitor project risk levels.
- Apply risk management processes in agile, waterfall, and hybrid project environments.
Course Methodology:
This training course will be delivered using an appropriate combination of engaging and purposeful methods, including:
- Practical case studies and scenario-based discussions.
- Risk identification workshops, simulations, and collaborative exercises.
- Qualitative and quantitative analysis exercises using project risk data.
- Instructor-led explanations, facilitated discussions, and structured problem-solving.
- Knowledge checks, exam-style questions, and an end-of-course mock assessment.

PDU Breakdown
If a participant already holds a PMI certification, this course may qualify for PDUs. The final allocation across Ways of Working, Power Skills, and Business Acumen will be based on the approved course content and PMI reporting requirements.
PMI-RMP® Certification Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must satisfy one of the following education, experience, and training pathways:
Set A
- A high school or secondary school diploma, or global equivalent.
- At least 36 months of project risk management experience within the past five years.
- At least 40 hours of project risk management education.
Set B
- A bachelor’s degree or higher, or global equivalent.
- At least 24 months of project risk management experience within the past five years.
- At least 30 hours of project risk management education.
Set C
- A bachelor’s degree or higher from a GAC-accredited program, or global equivalent.
- At least 12 months of project risk management experience within the past five years.
- At least 30 hours of project risk management education.

Path to PMI-RMP® Certification

Fulfill the eligibility requirements
Confirm the applicable education and experience pathway and complete the required project risk management education.

Complete the PMI-RMP® exam preparation program
Attend the training sessions and complete the required activities and assessment to receive evidence of 40 contact hours.

Submit the PMI application
Create an account on PMI.org, document the required education, training, and project risk management experience, and submit the application for review.

Complete the audit if selected
Provide the education, training, and professional-experience documentation requested by PMI.

Pay, schedule, and take the examination
After application approval, pay the applicable fee and schedule and take the examination through an available authorized testing option.

Earn and maintain the certification
Pass the examination to earn the PMI-RMP® certification. Maintain it by earning and reporting 30 PDUs during each three-year certification cycle and completing PMI’s renewal requirements.
